UI/UX Designer
For this project my team was tasked with creating a microsite for a fictional workshop called InterActivities.I worked as the UI/UX and web designer, creating our wireframes, mockups, and finally wiring up our final prototype for delivery. We wanted an easy to navigate, sleek, and simplistic website that still got across the point of the workshop.
I started by sketching rough wire frames with approximately what we wanted the site to look like. This being a microsite we wanted minimal pages, with maximum information. I knew we could condense the core information into just a few simple pages with a simplistic userflow.
After the team was happy with the wireframes I got to work on making a more refined but still very basic mockup, and then further refined that to give the team a better idea of what we needed.
After that our graphic designers worked to create our logos and create a colour palette and style tile.
Syne is used for headers.
Inter is used for the body text of the site.
From there I created a duplicate file of my wireframe with part of our content (created by our copywriter) and used it to test the colour palette against itself in different ways. This gave me a good idea of what combinations of colours would look the best, be the least straining on the eye. I also tested the colours for contrast to make sure it would not run into accessibility issues for colour blind people.
After consulting with the design team to ensure they were happy with the way I applied the style tile to our first page, I built out the rest of the pages with the same theme. After a bit of editing the font sizes and playing with the layout I was able to create a working prototype for our site.
